Warehouse

Set up printers and label routing

Register warehouse printers and choose default printers for supported label and document roles.

Quick answer

Owners and admins can register warehouse printers from Settings -> Warehouse -> Printers.

Printer routing lets LaSyncro send supported print jobs to a default printer for that job type when QZ Tray is available on the workstation.

Before you start

Use the warehouse computer that prints labels or documents.

The printer settings screen checks whether QZ Tray is available on that computer and shows one of these states:

  • QZ Tray connected
  • Detecting QZ Tray...
  • QZ Tray not detected on this computer

When QZ Tray is not detected, the screen offers a Download QZ Tray link.

Add a printer

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select Warehouse.
  3. In Printers, select Add printer.
  4. Enter the Printer name.
  5. Choose the printer Role.
  6. Choose the Connection type.
  7. Enter the OS printer name (QZ Tray).
  8. For Wi-Fi/network or Bluetooth printers, enter the address when needed.
  9. Optionally select Set as default for the selected role.
  10. Select Add printer.

The printer is registered after LaSyncro accepts the settings.

Supported routing roles

The currently supported routing roles are:

  • Unit labels (LSU-)
  • Invoices (A4)
  • Problem bin labels
  • Location labels (bin/lane)
  • General

Only one printer can be the default for a role at a time.

When you set a printer as the default for a role, LaSyncro clears the previous default for that role.

Set or change the default printer

In the printer list, use the default icon next to a registered printer to make it the default for its role.

The screen shows a checkmark when a printer is already the default for that role.

Remove a printer

Use the remove icon next to the printer.

LaSyncro asks you to confirm before removing it.

Removing a printer disables it for future routing. It does not change historical print-job records.

If automatic routing does not happen

Confirm that:

  • QZ Tray is running on the warehouse computer;
  • the printer is registered in LaSyncro;
  • the printer has the right role;
  • the printer is marked as the default for that role;
  • the OS printer name matches the printer name visible to QZ Tray.

If a supported route has no default printer or QZ Tray is unavailable, LaSyncro falls back to opening the generated PDF for browser-based printing where that workflow supports it.

Who can manage printers

Owners and admins can add, update, and remove printer settings.

Operators may use warehouse workflows that print labels or documents, but they do not manage printer routing settings by default.
