Quick answer
Owners and admins can create and manage warehouse locations from Floor Planning.
Select Add zone, enter a location code, choose its type, optionally assign a parent, and select Create.
Create a location
- Open Floor Planning.
- Select Add zone.
- Enter a Location code.
- Choose the location Type.
- Optionally enter an existing Parent location.
- Select Create.
Available types are:
- Bin
- Lane (Aisle)
- Shelf
- Warehouse
LaSyncro converts the location code to uppercase when the location is created.
Location-code rules
A location code is required.
Each code must be unique within your shop.
If you enter a parent location, that parent must already exist.
The location code itself is the location's permanent identifier and cannot be changed through the location update flow.
Who can manage locations
Creating, editing, deleting, and printing warehouse locations requires Floor Planning write access.
By default, that access is available to owners and admins.
Operators do not have Floor Planning write access.
Delete a location
LaSyncro prevents deletion when removing the location could break the warehouse structure or inventory record.
You cannot delete:
- the warehouse root from Floor Planning;
- a location that still contains on-hand stock;
- a parent location while child locations still depend on it.
If a location contains stock, move or adjust that inventory before deleting the location.
If the location has children, remove or relocate those child locations first.
Manage the warehouse root
The warehouse root is not deleted from Floor Planning.
Manage the warehouse itself from Settings → Warehouse.
Next step
After creating your physical locations, print labels so those locations can be identified and scanned on the warehouse floor.
Continue with Print location labels.
